Congratulations on finding a guitar you really enjoy playing.
I remember Daion acoustic guitars back in the late 70s. They advertized pretty strongly in Guitar Player magazine. I had a chance to play one, but honestly don't recall the specifics. I wasn't aware they also made an electric.
Around that time, there was an effort to squeeze every last bit of sustain out of our electric guitars. Companies like Yamaha were building axes like the SG with a brass nut, neck-through design, and heavy body. Yamaha even installed a brass "tone-block" under the bridge to increase sustain. I don't know if those factors really did increase the sustain (it certainly increased the weight), but there are some well made, solid perfoming guitars from that era. Glad you found a keeper!
