It finally arrived!!!111!!!111!!!111!!!
Yup, my CV 50's Strat is here at last!
Dang! the quality of this thing! i was a little apprehensive as i had to order this online (i don't have a local guitar store and the place i used to use went belly up last year)
but i'm pleased to report it is faultless. Fretwork is excellent, no nasty buzzes anywhere on the neck, action is low, trem is decked but that suits me...it's how i set my Strats up anyway, fit and finish are fantastic and there's some beautiful flame figuring on the neck. The damned thing was even almost in tune straight out of the box! 20cents flat on all 6 strings and once tuned up intonation was spot on...pretty impressive.
Pickups sound quite nice, but from my own previous experience they'll sound much better with some 250k pots and the bridge pickup wired to the second tone control, bridge pickup sounds suprisingly rounded though, not at all harsh, which was a pleasant surprise.
So, yeah, extremely happy with this guitar, it's plays wonderfully, feels like an old friend already
