The Loop Master box further down on the electric side allows me to select between a "rhythm" loop (which now contains an Xotic EP Booster -> BB Preamp -> AC Booster) and a "lead" loop (now sporting a BK Butler Tube Driver-> Xotic AC Plus -> Dan Echo,) or hit master bypass and skip the whole lot of them for my clean tones.
The biggest changes lately is that most of my OD's are now Xotic - they're just freakin' GREAT sounding with my rig - they really work well with Fender or Fender influence amps. The AC Plus in my lead loop actually sounds like a vintage Plexi - I can actually cop vintage Cream tone with a strat! Throw in the BK over the top of that= 10,000lb violin.
The other experiment I'll be doing tomorrow is that I'm going to try and run less stuff through the amp's effects loop - the only thing I'm planning on leaving in the loop is the TC chorus, which goes stereo back into the amp - to really get the magic out of a TC you've gotta run it stereo. That means the Choralflange and both my echos will now follow the Boss NS-2 before heading into the front of the amp. I'm also planning on putting a vintage Fender volume pedal after the noise suppressor and before the flange and echo so I can do volume swells and still have the delay trails ("Xanadu" by Rush, anyone?)
Once I get everything rerouted I'll post new pics to further confuse everyone...
