I see what you're saying but to me, if i'm listening to a bunch of different tone clips of pickups I want them to at least be all on the same footing tonally, that way I can truly hear the pickups tone. Like the clips over at the Acme site, theres Fenders, Fralins, Lollars etc.. And they are all setup the same so I can go to each one hear what the actual PU has to offer, without any effects altering the tone quality. As A side note, I guess not all players use all the same pedals so using effects on clips to me is not a good thing. Not sure how many other people buy, just by sound bytes but I personally would never buy anything like PU's that has effects running in the chain.
