I am hardly a good hybrid picker but the Eric Johnson DVD I got cheap at used book store got me using Jazz III picks and that smaller pick and its profile sounding more like bare fingers has helped what little I can do.

www.freeguitarvideos.com people have also helped me where I've bought some of their $5 lessons that will spoon feed you a particular style via .pdf to print, instructional video and a backing track .mp3 file.
I will put the jam tracks on my music player with port to practice amp or in my looper and keep the printed material handy and make some progress but you will not see me on stage anytime soon.
