NAD !!! Blackstar HT1-R combo
Ok, maybe a little early, but i ordered it and it should be here tomorrow.
Looks like i found the perfect combo to play at home.First of all, i'm a purist and don't need no FX's and stuff on my amp - reverb is enough.
And this little tube amp also got an emulated line/headphone out.Very important to me as i play mostly with headphones on at home.
I already love the sound on the videos...should be even better live at home...

I was impressed first time I saw a video on the HT-1.
Can't wait for them to hit the US.
Let us know what you think.

I got the ht-1 for Christmas from my girlfriend and believe me it's the best practice amp in that price range it does everthing and I'm amazed on how versatile it is.

OK, i played it about one hour so far and have to say it's going back....not my cup of coffee...overdriven it sounds too compressed to me...even with pedals...sounds too modern for me...

Sorry to hear that! It didn't sound that badly compressed on the demo.

Sorry to hear it's not your cup of tea, maybe you should look at the fender champion 600 that's slightly cheaper and has a nice vintage fender tone it

Congratulations on your New Amp. I've been looking at the Blackstar Amp's for some time now.I really like the (IFS) Infinite Shape Feature that allow's it to sound like so many differeant Amps.
I hope you enjoy it and it . Can't wait to hear your Demo and a review.

Cool idea and works not bad at all...but i can't get any overdrive tones out of it that i like....Cleans are fine, but that's not enough....

Seems like my old Yamaha G-5 is still the one!
Even if it's a solid state amp, you can get some very nice, tube-like tones out of it.Very vintage sounding
Here it is:

You may wanna ckeck out a Vox AC4TV, nice vinatage sound on the distortion.
I liked mine so much I now have 2 for a nice stereo practice rig.
I also have a Bugera V5 for the $135.00 I paid new it's a hell of an amp for what it is.
The HT-1-R has cought my attention seeing some of the videos out.
But I have wondered how much of the sound is being processed for the videos.
I also wonder how only a preamp tube alone can deliver the goods.
Thanks for your imput, I still wanna check one out for myself when they are available around here.
Really give it a few days before returning it, your ears at times can play tricks on ya.
Especially being used to what you have now.
Tomorrow you just might plug in and tweek it to your liking.
Tube amps can do that sometimes.
Might sound great one day and meh the next.

I've got an HT-5 I'm getting rid of soon. I'm going to replace it with the new JCA22H when it comes out. 20w all tube head. 2 Channels including the legendary Soldano "Super Lead Overdrive" Channel.

Thanks, but it should also have a headphone out...
I will return it...the first tones should impress me, if not i'll be not 100% satisfied...
And my old Yamaha with the Route 808 pedal gives me all i need to practice at home...

Been wanting to try one for ages, so very interested in your experience gypsyseven.
I tried a pocket Pod - they suck.
I have a Marshall MG10 - great overdrive, but similar to your experience - not "organic".
Recently got AmpliTube for my iTouch - O.K. at a pinch.
Best low volume solutions (no headphones though) are still my original Pignose with a TS9 Tubescreamer, or my Champion 600 with the TS9 - use the level on the pedal to control the volume.
Course when the house is empty out comes the Marshall 25/50 Silver Anniversary - hello neighbours !!!!!!!
