Seafoam Green-Refinish...Finished
Finished up the SFG Strat today, here are a few pics of how it turned out.
This started out as a Squier Affinity. Sanded the body and painted with Reranch SFG. I made a headstock template from my 40th Anny and modified the Squier "chicken head". After the headstock was reshaped, the neck was stripped completely then tinted with 4 or 5 coats of amber shellac. I used Behlen lacquer for the clear coats. The saddles and trem block were upgraded, other than that it's stock. I dealt with the trem block/back plate issue by filling the holes for the back plate, she'll always go backless.
Most of my Fender fret boards are maple, but I really like the rosewood with the SFG. All in all I'm happy with the results, as soon as I can get it set up I'll let you know how it plays and sounds.
Cheers!

That's a basic water slide decal I found on e-bay. I applied the decal after a couple light coats of clear, then buried it under several more clear coats.
Check out the LP Jr Progect thread for another pin up girl.

Thanks Pesky, I,ve enjoyed having it around. It's turned out to be a pretty good player worthy of a pup upgrade.

Love my Carvin! That is a Vintage 33, it's no longer made, they offer the Nomad in 50 watts now. My experience with Carvin has been great, guitars and amps. I used the X100B amp for years with much success along with a couple DC 127 guitars. Best guitar for the dollar out there... in my opinion of course.

Glad to hear it! I had ordered the Vintage 33 about the time they were discontinuing it, and received the Nomad. I don't think the Carvin amps get proper recognition. I think they are great amps at a great value. I have one of their bass guitars, LB70-Koa. My next guitar will probably be a Carvin (when ever next is?).

I hear ya' Silvertone, I will have a California Carved Top at some point, as you say, when ever that is...
Also the Carvin Bolt is a good sounding , very road worthy S type, never hear much about 'em.

Sweet color man. I am a huge fan of the seafoam + rosewood. Actually its my fav! Love the pinup girl, a great alternative to a logo especially when torn between putting squire back on, forging a fender logo or putting your own custom.

Thanks Jgnov99! A friend I play with occasionally has a set of the Van Zandt's in his partscaster, they sound very nice, you'll enjoy those. I've wanted to try a set of Mr. Kleins pups for a while now, so that's the direction I'll propably go.
Good luck on the poplar redo. I used Reranch rattle cans for the first time on this one and recommend them. Please post pics when you're done.
Cheers!
