Boss CH-1 Super Chorus repair

I didn't know whether to put this in Tech-Talk or The Effect effect. It is about an effect.

The Outputs don't work on my Boss CH-1 pedal. I bought it used awhile ago. Initially, the A output was intermittent but the B output worked fine. I opened it up and did nothing more than add a small piece of electrical tape to prevent the output jacks from shorting to the metal casing; and I rearrange the washers around the 1/4" jacks to provide better grounding. This seemed to fix the problem and the pedal worked perfectly for about a week. Now, neither of the outputs work at all so the pedal is essentially dead. When the pedal is opened (and upside down) for servicing, if I push on the jacks/board (pushing them toward the top of the pedal), sometimes I can get it to work (during testing). I'm assuming that either the jacks are bad, the PCB board is bad, or the solder on them is broken. I have NOT removed the jacks/board from the pedal yet because that would require disconnecting several wires. I don't want to start melting solder until I have a plan.

I have a low-moderate to moderate level of electronics technical aptitude. I have replaced pickups in my guitar and bass by myself and have done some minor soldering/repair to CB radios and micorphones. So, I'm not afraid to try fixing it myself and I know how to solder. However, I have never replaced 1/4" jacks on a PCB board before. They look fragile so before I start (and end up damaging the thing for good!) I want to ask first.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on this to guide me?

*Edited for spelling.

if it were me I'd re-solder the connections on the input and output jacks. actually, just heat up the joint and add a little solder. I wouldn't remove anything. I've been surprised a few times how doing something so simple can make things work again.

Good luck.

Bob
