If you could only keep two pedals...
which one would they be?
My choices
1. BOSS TU-2 Tuner - I hate playing out of tune.
2. BOSS BD-2 Blues Drive - My tube amp sim in a box.... love it.

Digitech "Hot head" distortion -- it can go from a nice classic rock distortion (it can almost sound like an overdrive if you play with your amp settings and the pedal enough) all the way to metal, and sound great doing it.
Dunlop Crybaby wah pedal -- an old classic....cheap, reliable, effective.
That's it!

HBE Big D- an amazingly versatile booster/overdrive/fuzz/distortion. It can do everything a tube screamer can do, plus a lot more; and it sounds better too.
Other than that one, I don't really use my pedals that much, but a good clean booster might be nice. I'm currently looking for one.

Digitech Bad Monkey is my absolute fave, I just love the smooth distortion I get through my Blues Junior. Second is my Line 6 Short Timer delay, haven't tried any other delays but don't think I care to as I dig the retro vibe I get with the Short Timer.
Peace,
Jeremy

Ooops, it's a Rocktron Short Timer delay, not a Line 6 that I mention in the previous post.

OK - Been thinking about it. I think if I could only keep two pedals I would keep the BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver and the BOSS RV-3 Digital Delay/Reverb. I can sacrifice the convenience of the pedal tuner for a different one, but not having a little overdrive and the reverb delay together would kinda suck.

Probably,
The Keeley Compressor and Keeley Phat Modded Boss Blues Driver [ BD2-Ph]that arrived on Friday.
They were my faves within 10 mins of plugging them in...awesome tones.
I now have a GT8 for sale.

Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde and BBE Sonic Stomp. The J & H has blown me away in a very short space of time. I am not big on pedals but the J & H certainly adds to the sounds and I think I will keep it for many years to come. The sonic stomp, if you get it right, brings out a range of tones that might otherwise go unheard.

Boss ME-50 and a Digitech Bad Monkey.
Wait, those are the only pedals I have, nevermind.

I think I'd have to keep my Ross grey-box compressor, and my CryBaby. Everything else is just for showing off (that and my delay is built in to my amp. I get to cheat).

I've only held on to one pedal over the years.
I really wish I didn't need it but it adds so much magic to my sound.

Those Keeley Compressors are the ****, from what I hear. I was looking at their website, and the one you use is supposed to be modeled after the Ross compressor I have. You think Keeley would refurbish one? Mine needs a bit of work...and some shielding (picks up radio stations).

Re Keeley upgrades
BS
Ring them up. They are the most helpful people in the business. I'm sure that if they can do it and think it's worth your while, (time effort cost effectiveness etc) they will upgrade the components for you.
And they won't rip you off.
Regards
Ooops. Just checked. They won't Mod just any pedal. Though if you know the bits that need upgrading they could still point you in the right direction. Still, nice people, great compressor!

Thanks for the info, TM. I guess I'll just have to break down and buy a Keeley. Either that, or take it to someone local and see if it's worth my time (I mean, come on. Vintage ross compressor...not something I wanna give up too easily.)
Sorry for the off topic. You may now resume the original discussion (like you needed my permission).

I got myself an Electro-Harmonix LPB-1. Very nice, and very cheap.

Assuming a good amp & axe. Right?
Some type of Tube Screamer and a delay. How's that for original? Mine are a TS-9 re-issue and a Rocktron Short Timer. The TS-9 does what Tube Screamers do, and the Short Timer can do slap back very well. Both pedals are cheap, intuitive, and plentiful.
Cheers,
Chuck

OCD + Carbon Copy
I can get most of my sounds out of these two pedals. I'll tune to somebody else! LOL

Crybaby would be #1 cos it can also get some nice gritty tones when set in a mid position and also my Barber Tone Press cos it's just so transparent but really adds a bloom to the tone.
