Unintentional logout
Great Forum. Real friendly. Love it. Being new here I am experiencing logouts I didn't choose. Example, I log in & try to post & have to login again. I just had to login to post this. 3rd time today. Thanks, take care, gt.

If you log in and then are immediately logged out as you move around the page to try to make a new thread/post then the problem is your browser cookies have gotten corrupted.
Here's how you correct this:
Corrupted browser cookies.
1. With ONE browser window open
2. Make sure you are logged in to Strat-Talk
3. Click LOG OUT on the menubar
4. Close the browser window
5. Reopen your browser and come back to Strat-Talk
6. Log in and click "remember me"
If that doesn't work you need to delete ALL of your browser cookies.
PS. It will not work if more than one browser window is open at the time.

Check that your computer date/time setting is correct, while you are at it.

Thanks for the help folks. I'd like to ask one more two part question please. Is this remember me particular to this forum & the software here. What I mean is, for an extra layer of security, I do not check this when I am on-line banking & have never had a problem. Also, am I correct in thinking remember me here is only per log-on visit? Remember me only till I log out? Thanks

Remember me puts nothing but a login cookie on your system. If you use it, you will not ever have to manually login as long as the cookie is present on your system. There is zero threat to using it. Absolutely zero.
It does not expire.
Disallowing cookies gives you no extra security at all.

I have no concern about security here at this fine site.
What I mean is, should someone else ever be at my keyboard, I make it so they would have to take extra steps to access any of my accounts. I allways log out. Thanks for all.
