Back button acting weird
Starting yesterday on this and the tele forum my back button is acting really weird , sometimes when going back to a main page from a thred I get a blank page , if I hit it twice I get back to the main page. Others times I don't go anywhere.
Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on.

You're not alone......I've had this on odd occasions on other sites.
No idea why this happens. And there I was thinking I'd drunk too much

I think it's because the site generates every page, so it doesn't remember everything you did.
On other forums with the same forumsoftware the back button did work all the time, never mentioned it here.

Well this is a pain in the ass. I didn't used to do this on the forum and I'm surprised and dissapointed that the moderator has not responded to this issue.

I'm still amazed that the moderator has chosen not to even respond in any way to this thread.
Asleep at the wheel perhaps

Sorry, I did not see this thread.
I have no idea what your problem is. The back button works perfectly 100% of the time for me here. I can't really fix a problem that I can't duplicate.
The back button is a browser dependent issue. It's action takes place solely within YOUR browser. Not within the server that hosts this website.
Perhaps you might tell me at least what browser and version you see this problem on, and what type of system... PC or Mac. Though I have tried to recreate this on a PC using MS IE 7, FireFox 2, Chrome Beta and PC Safari 3 and have not see this behavior.

I was experiencing this problem, too. or at least to a certain extent. what I've started doing is to go back up to the top of the page and hitting the "Home" button. I've been doing this for a while now and it seems to have solved my problem.

All true, but I have had this problem from day one. 90% of the time, the only way I can get back is to go to favorites and hit the link to this forum again.. I have zero problems anywhere else on the 'net. Only here on this forum. The only thing my uneducated mind can come up with is that in some way, something about the way this forum works and the way my browser is set up (IE7) interferes with one another, as opposed to any other place on the net. Since I can't figure it out, I just learned to live with it. In the end, it's a small inconvienience compared to the enjoyment of this forum.

I use Firefox and don't notice any problem. So, I've logged in for this post with IE 7 and I'm still not seeing any problem.
I'll do some research and see what I can come up with.

I don't have the foggiest notion what it is, but since it only shows up on certain people's computer/browser I'd be willing to bet it's on our end and there's not much you can do about it. I've long since ceased to worry about it and found a solution that works for me, which was the point of my post. I'd much rather just enjoy the forum and thank you for all that you do to keep this place up and running. It is much appreciated.

So far the research that I've done tells me that the problem is on your computer and it is not associated with any of the coding here.
I'll keep checking, but that what I've been told a number of times now.

Mine does weird things too using the back button. Like when I use the back button it's like it gets stuck on that one page and wont go back, just refreshes the same page, if you double click real fast it takes you back to the previous page but sometimes it takes you 2 pages back, or sometimes when I reply to a post it takes 6 clicks of the back button to get back to the original page, Weird... I use firefox too so it could be my browser? Not that i'm bothered about, just weird is all.
