Hello from Finland
Hello everyone.
I'm a new Strat-talk member from Finland.
I'm a big fan and a huge enthusiast of 50s/60s Fender instruments and amplifiers. Especially from '54 to '62 Stratocasters, early Teles, Broadcasters and NoCasters, the Twin amp & Bassman etc. Pre-CBS so to say.
Actually I'm a huge fan of Gibson guitars too.
I work as a musicstore clerk/salesman. I buy, sell, adjust and repair guitars as my dayjob.
Currently I'm having a custom-made '54 Stratocaster replica made for me and my specific order. Including the miniskirt knobs, amber brown to canary yellow 2-tone burst, more contoured comfort body than most Strats these days (just like they did in '54), AlNiCo III pups with formvar wound coils etc. etc. All the cool '54 things.
If you want to know more... go ahead and ask. Thanks and cheers!

Thank you everyone.
I surely will post some pictures once the instrument is finished.
Latest I heard of it is that the builder has been working on the 54-style comfort contours.
Guitar should be ready in a month or two.
Btw... you can find me posting on pre-CBS area most often. That's the place and reason why I logged in
Cheers mates!

Sorry guys for being absent for some time.
Here's my '54 Custom-made replica I raved about last time I visited here:
Currently I'm getting myself a '62 Strat-replica... from the same builder.

Hi... and thanks for your kind words.
- That '54 replica was built by Finlandia Instruments ( finlandiainstruments.fi - sorry, there's no english translation available... maybe google translator could help?)
- I don't feel like giving out the exact amount of euros I paid for that... but let's say it was around 2000 euros (including everything).
- Teemu, name of that man who built the guitar for me cut and machined the body himself. From the scratch. We picked the woods together and the maple for the neck was "one of a kind" piece... with both flame and bird's eye on it at the same time.
- Body is light weight Ash, with clearly visible grains... just like they did back in 1954, 55 and 56. The 2-tone sunburst color was picked from the original factory data (amber brown to canary yellow... both DuPont's car colors).
- The tunes I play with it are simply everything from blues, country and rock'n'roll to more modern stuff like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dire Straits. I mainly use it for rockabilly stuff. I like the snappy and punchy tone of ash body combined with maple neck/fretboard... and of course BareKnucklePickups' The Apache singlecoil-set.
