Schecter Limited Edition Solo-6 Gold-Top

Not sure who else has these in stock in the USA, But Daddys.com - Over 10,000 Used Instrum...s Online Daily has 12 of the 100 that have been built.

They are Schecters take on a Les-Paul.

The Solo-6 LE Gold-Top has a 24 fret Ebony fingerboard with jumbo frets and MOP Dot Inlays. The pick-ups are Duncan Designed P-90s. The Tuning Machines are Schecters Locking Tuners. The Bridge and Stop-Tail are both Tone Pro's. Bound neck, body and headstock [single-bound].

I have NOT played this electric though I am heading their [Daddys] this weekend. I will let you know what my take is on the guitar.

I have been looking for a Les-Paul with P-90s. I lost a bid on a Very nice Sapphire Blue GEM series P-90 loaded LP Gibson. Not sure what route I'll be going but the Schecter certainly looks to be worth a Test Drive.

The sticker price on it is $629.00 without a HSC or Bag for that matter. I'm sure you could walk out with the guitar for $6 bills even. I'd bet with a set of Lollar P-90s you would have one SWEET P-90 style Les-Paul.

NO-PHOTOS.....SORRY. I'm not sure if Daddys has a photo/description on-line of the Solo Gold-Top? I'm on their mailing list and had a look that way.. The new sales mag just arrived yesterday so apparently the guitar was just released.

BTW Check out their USED Guitars/price's. Their used electric guitar stock is MUCH MORE extensive than any other music store/chain I have been in to date!

The Schecters have a lot going for them. They are beautifully finished guitars made of the nicest material I've seen. For example, the flamed and quilted maple tops are real flamed or quilted book-ended maple rather than veneer or photo-finished, as they are on a lot of Asian-built guitars. The Diamond guitars use especially nice, thick wood tops. They remind me of higher-end PRS guitars. The Schecter locking tuners are very nice, as are the Seymour Duncan and Duncan-designed pickups, and the push-pull coil taps enhance the palet of sound tremendously, but I think the most appealing thing is their double-expanding truss rod. If my Strat had been equipped with one of these, I could have saved the $95 I dropped having my neck steamed. I'm planning to pick up a Gibson LP, or maybe a Heritage, but I keep coming back to these Schecters. In a lot of ways they offer a lot more value for the money.

Certainly have been closing the gap with USA QC. But they are no longer that inexpensive unless you buy used.

The FMT Solo-6 is over $800. which is basically in the price range of a Gibson Studio used? So thats something to think about also.
