Daion Power Series Mark XX Anyone? Pictures ADDED!

I got a Daion Power Series Mark XX which was produced by Daion in Japan by a former employee of C.F. Martin and Co from 1978 to 1984. This guitar has many appointments that make it a keeper. These include: A 9 piece laminated thro body neck of alternatine rosewood and maple, body is a rosewood top and back sandwiching maple, brass nut and saddles, ebony fingerboard, pair of Daion Humbuckers, PuP selection Switch (neck, both, bridge, pairs indivitualf volume and tone pots, and individual PuP
singlecoil/humbucing switches. It really is an incredable sounding guitar.
Have any of ya'll heard of Daion or get a chance to play one. If so did you like them as much as I because I think they sound great.

Congratulations on finding a guitar you really enjoy playing.

I remember Daion acoustic guitars back in the late 70s. They advertized pretty strongly in Guitar Player magazine. I had a chance to play one, but honestly don't recall the specifics. I wasn't aware they also made an electric.

Around that time, there was an effort to squeeze every last bit of sustain out of our electric guitars. Companies like Yamaha were building axes like the SG with a brass nut, neck-through design, and heavy body. Yamaha even installed a brass "tone-block" under the bridge to increase sustain. I don't know if those factors really did increase the sustain (it certainly increased the weight), but there are some well made, solid perfoming guitars from that era. Glad you found a keeper!

Chuck, thanks for all the info about the brass appointments. I have seen a Fender brass trem block with the Fender logo stamped on it. The Daion is an incredible sounding instrument. I just got my Tele back from the shop. I had a active EMG SPC (presence control) and replaced the volume pot with a concentric volume/tone with the volume on the outer ring. It sounds incredible also. It sounded great before and now even better.
