12 bar blues in C

Here’s another track for us to noodle on.
Key: C
Time 4/4
BPM: 70

Notes:
It’s a royalty free drum loop and I’m playing a basic 12 bar blues bass line in the Key of C.
Everybody is welcome to do “whatever” talent NOT required at all. Feel free to start a ‘new’ version or add on to somebody else’s. No rules at all!

Not sure if it's just my work PC, but I'm having trouble hearing the bass line.
It of course sounds fine at home, but I'll look into adjusting the levels tonight.

Here's a copy with the bass turned up a bit.

Has anybody else had similar issues recording bass?

Bass can be difficult. You could try adding some compression to fatten it up. That will also allow you to turn it up without peaks going in the red (I don't how you are recording though). Also whatever you are listening with to mix may have a bass heavey response which is causing you to lower the volume so it sounds right. If possible try auditioning the track from more than one source.

Mixing through headphones can be another problem.

Yes, very misleading at times.

Thanks for the tip. I ran the bass through a compressor and it sounds much better. I also hooked some old OEM computer speakers up to my rig so I can listen with different sources.
