I have developed a way to decorate pickguards with digital images. I call them PICGUARDS. Picguards look and feel like original pickguards and the image is high resolution and quite durable.
I can't really give away the secrets of how I do this but I'll tell you what they are NOT.
Picguards are NOT a sticker or vinyl applied on top of a pickguard
Picguards are NOT an image underneath a clear acrylic pickguard
I can cut guards for strat, tele, SG, Danelectro DC59s, tele thinlines, mini strats or any other model if you'll send me the original to make a template.
Here's how it works,
1 FIND AN IMAGE (jpeg, gif, pdf) Starting with a high quality image obviously produces a better result. Good images can be found all over the www. Try a Google image search, or get stock photos, or even pictures from your own digital camara. Flames, paisley, plaid, tie dye, pin ups, skulls, dragons, planets (very cool Hubble images on NASA's website)... whatever. Any image is possible.
2 Contact me at
picguards@hotmail.com and tell me about your guitar and how you want your pickguard (guitar model, handiness (left or right to you and me,) bevel or no bevel, pickup routing, screw holes, etc.) If I don't have a template just send your original (only about $2 USPS) and I'll make one.
3 We will discuss price. Usually around $25 for Les Paul size, $35 for Tele, $40 for Strat.
4 You pay. PayPal welcome
5 I work.
6 I mail it to you. You should get it within a week.
