Kind of a limited list, given the list of pickups available form fender and everywhere else. But the Custom Shop 69 I got sure sounds sweet.

Welllll.....
Actually....none of the above :D
I'm sure those are excellent pickups but I currently use various models of EMG, Fender Texas Specials, and various models of GFS. EMG's in the gigging guitars and the others in the "play at home where it's electrically quiet" Strats.

The only problem is if I get the active EMG That requires drilling. Not what I want to do.

Hmmm...I didn't have to do any drilling that I can remember. Just have to mount the
pups in the pickguard, disconnect the ground to the trem, replace the output jack with a "Stereo" jack. The battery tucks away under the tone/volume controls. Easy as pie! I understand that some people find them "sterile" sounding but I haven't found that to be the case. In recordings I've done I have yet to meet the person that can tell which is passive and which is active. Anyway...didn't mean to hijack your thread. I hope to try some CS 69's soon. I've heard they are really excellent pickups ...as are the others you listed in the poll. Heck...try 'em all! :D

Yeah but there is one thing to consider is that if the battery goes dead then have to loosen up the strings un-screw the pickguard and change the battery.
Not something alot guitar tech would recommend.

Yessir...that is defintely a consideration that must be weighed when deciding whether ro not to use active pickups. Since I have yet to reach the level of stardom to be able to afford a tech....I do my own setups/maintenance. I replace the battery every 10th string change or so and always bring a backup guitar to gigs just in case. So far (knocking on forehead/wood) have'nt had one die yet! BTW...the backup also has EMG's in it. DG-20 in the main guit and SV's in the backup. Again...didn't intend to skew your thread. Now back to the regularly scheduled program.

Now I am looking into doing a second loaded pick guard for my other stratocaster and now I seem to be leaning towards the Fender Lace Sensor Blue or Silver

Custom does sound good, Lace's sound good, and my American Standard sounds good. Actually my son's MIM 70's reissue sounds good. I guess my response would be as long as it's a Fender and you've got the volume on 10, you can't go wrong.

Yeah after I adjusted the Bridge Pickup Height on the CS 69 I started to like it better at first it sound muffled Until I raised to where it's about 1/8" below the strings.
I remember though that the Custom Shop 69 pickups DC resistances is only 5.8k ohm and Inductance is only 2.2 Henries for all 3 pickups.

The CS 69's are just great sounding pickups. If you have a chance to actually get your hands on a CS '69 Strat or the '68 CS Heavy relic which employs them as well, you'll see what I mean.

Here's a video of Mike Eldred from the CS playing the '69 pickups. The one difference with the '68 CS Heavy relic, however, is the middle pickup is reverse wound as is discussed in the video. Gives you an idea though...

I have three favourites, none of which are in your poll!! I think anything by Lindy Fralin is killer........I have Vintage Hots in one strat and I love the tone. If you want something a little hotter but still strat-tones and a lot of quack in 2 & 4, Fralin SP43's are awesome! I think these are my favourite Strat pups. Bill Lawrence also makes great pups for a very reasonable price. I also have one strat with Fat 50's and they are great; one strat with Fender 57/62's which I like a lot too!! So many choices, just means you have to get more strats to have one of each!!

I prefer the CS '54 Fender pickups. Those are my favorites. I find the '69's a bit too overwound for my tastes. I like the chime of the lower output p'ups.

Tazz, if you're like most, your taste will vary from time to time or just depending on what mood you are in at the moment too. My tastes are open a bit, but what I never go for is absolute distortion. I like the cleaner and rounder tones mostly.

That's pretty much what the Custom Shop 69 Pickups do pretty good. I would like know (and I have posted this over tdpri) is what the Lace Sensor Hot Gold Sound Like through a sound clip.

Well I haven't play strat in long time cause went back to Les Paul I'm just curious as to how they sound. I have heard the regular Gold Pickups in action thanks to Eric Clapton, but I have been wondering about the hot golds
