Old Strats seem to be like old friends to some people. They have stories to tell... That's also why people like the relic ones. They look as if they've lived a long life, full of gigs, adventures and fun...
But I must say the "best strat" is the one you have fun with, no matter its value. Pieces of history are fine, but I love my Clapton one ! :-)

I don't doubt it's a fine guitar but the above statement is impossible to verify. How different can a Strat be before it stops sounding like a Strat?

Is it just me, or does anyone else hate Jean-Pierre right now?
I`m even starting to go off Hank after all those tacky promo photos.
It IS a very nice 54 though! Are there any bad ones still in one piece?

Nice pics, nice story. It seems that this guy is someone who in fact plays the guitar and shares it with other players and the world. Kudos to him for that. It is a real nice looker with that 1 piece Ash body and and the natural relicing. Thank you for sharing this story with this post.

What are we talkin' about here? Vintage strats or Jean Pierre Danel...? This post looks like a personal ad...

There`s nothing more rocknroll than a French man, lying in a field of grass with his Strat staring dreamily into the sky.........
NOT!

It would have been better to hear more of the guitar in the videos, played clean.
I think you have posted enough pictures of yourself. This is a guitar forum, not facebook.

?? I am not jp danel, in case you didn't know :-) I follow his records and I got photos from various websites - including his official one - that show Miss Daisy in various situations. It's cool to see the guitar in every detail, as it is on the first page here, but it's also cool to see it played, no ? As you can see, there are some other people with the guitar as well (Marvin, etc), not only danel. The point here is the guitar, but its owner can't be avoid unless you post only 3 or 4 pics, and from what I read, I see some people are happy to see it played live or in the studio... It's a rare bird, so it's cool to see it in every situation... But if you insist, I will only post pics of the guitar alone - there will just be less infos then... :-)

Why? Just don't read it if you're bothered by looking at nice pics of a valuable guitar!! What I like most about this guy is that he plays the guitars that he buys and doesn't lock them in a vault. Kudos to him for that and he is actually a very good player from the youtube things I listened to.......thanks for the post as I said much earlier in the thread. A real piece of Fender history here..........

What's with this thread, and especially the poll? Yes, Mr. Danel is a good guitar player, but I can think of hundreds who are better. And yes, the chance to play, let alone own, an early '54 Stratocaster is a rare treat. Kudos to him for playing it and letting it sing rather than collecting dust in a glass display case. But the adulation in this thread for him and his guitar are way over the top.
So do I agree with the entire nation of France that Miss Daisy is the "best Strat ever?" Not even close! My personal Strat is a Squier that cost just shy of $300.00. You could drive to your nearest music store and buy one identical to it. But it's as comfortable as an old baseball glove with a neck that feels like it was custom-made for my left hand. It sounds exactly like a great Stratocaster should, and I can pick it up, play it, and expereience the simple joy of making music. To me, that's the best Strat ever!
