the rest of the rig

OK we have seen guitars, picks, and strings, so what fills out the rest of your rig?

From the guitar it goes into an Ibanez TS-808 (for screamin' sustain) , a Marshall BD-2 (good blues drive, rarely used though), a Boss DD-3 (also rarely used, delay isn't my thing, except fot slide), a Vox V-847 Wah Wah, and a Boss CS-3 (that makes my sound say ahhhhhhh in relaxation).

All of that is hooked into a silverface Fender Ultra Chorus. It's a 2x12, 130 Watt amp, and I have only ever seen one other like it.

I hear a lot of older folks poke fun at my effects, saying they prefer to make the sounds they need with just their hands and their guitar, but after a 20 minute jam, you have to keep people's attention. You have to keep it exciting.

Not sure what the older guys are saying...you just cannot do some effects with your fingers. Period. I don't use much in the way of effects. I don't have many effects anyway. Although, I'd like to get a wah pedal and a delay pedal. Another fun treat would be a Rocktron Banshee talk box.

My setup at the moment in addition to my '93 Fender American Standard Strat, is a Marshall V40 (40 watt combo). Practice with it, gigged with it, love it!
A Danelectro Cool Cat chorus pedal...sounds AMAZING!
A Boss TR-2 tremolo pedal. Very good vintage-like sound.
...and a Boss PH-3 phase shifter pedal. Fun to fool around with. Not an effect I use often, though.
I also have a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus but the outputs are faulty so it doesn't work anymore.

Use my Marshall's tube preamp for overdive. The amp has spring reverb too. That's about it for me.

I probably AM one of the older guys here , but I do use some effects - hard to say what I'll use when, but over the years I've accumulated the following collection:

Fender Stratocaster "Special Edition '93"
Fender Squier Bullet early '80's 7/8 stratsize with tele neck
G&L ASAT Special "The Tribute"

BOSS SD-1 (I have 2, one has been with me for about 25 years, the other is a back-up, just in case the old one farts out)
Ibanez TS9
T-Rex "Dr Swamp" dual overdrive
VOX wah
Visual Sound H2O - Chorus/Delay
Ibanez CP10 compressor
Ibanez DL10 Digital Delay
BOSS GT-3
Roland RE-800 (rackspace delay/reverb unit)

Bronx 112 (50W tube amp, Fender Blues Deluxe clone)
Fender Super 60 (50W tube amp, Rivera Design)
Laney LC15 (15W tube amp)

BOSS BR864 digital recorder

and I'm sure if I look around a bit I'll find the odd thing or two I forget about right now...

Made a list of gear the other day and I'm embarrassed to say the least. Can you say eBay? Some of it has to go = have to make room for more.

Yesterday it was G&L Legacy > MI Audio Blues Pro > VHT Super 30.

Today Hamer Daytona > Cube 60 > Line out to the PA.

I keep it simple.

One of these three guitars:

Rogue RP-150 (PRS style body) probably my #1, but haven't picked it up lately
Agile AL-2000 (Les Paul copy)
Squier MIM Standard Strat

through these effects:

DigiTech Bad Monkey Overdrive > Dunlop Crybaby Classic Wah

into one of these two amps, neither of which are mine:

VHT Pittbull Super Thirty
Peavey Classic 50 4x10"

Hmm, I should buy an amp someday.

Amps:
1) JCM 2000 DSL 100w w/Vintage 60s 4 x 12 cab. Too big for regular use. Great sound when you can crank it.
2) Fender Super Sonic 60w with 4 x 12 cab(Has both Vibrolux and Bassman circuitry and can switch between them in real time) This is my latest purchase. This is the best amp I have ever had. Best sounding clean channels ever.
3) Fender Stage 160 160w with 2 x 12 combo amp.

Effects:
1) Boss GT8
2) Line 6 Pod XT
3) 1975 Crybaby Wah
4) 1975 EH Big Muff
5) Fulltone Clyde Deluxe - Best Wah I have ever used. Amazing pedal.
