multi guitar stand plans

Does anyone have plans or pictures of a multi guitar stand. I have to many guitars and they are all on individual floor stands. needless to say They are taking up much of my playing space. I dont have wall space to hang them. So my solution is to build a rack that can hold all of them and take up less area.

I think you have to be careful of the padding material. Some kinds of it interact in a bad way with the finish where it contacts (bottom and neck)
Especially a nitro finish

Here is some plans and pictures for something like I would like to do. I like wood and find it fun to work with. PVC may be easier or cheaper but I still would rather do something in wood. Wooden Guitar Stand

I have a Proline that holds seven. It looks really similar to the picture above.

I also use the Rockstands and have been a few years now. I also do exactly as you see with Johns where the guitars make contact and use Flannel their.

Basically I hang my guitars, but when I play, which is daily. I'll take down the few guitars I'm jamming with and THEN use the stand. But too me the Multi Stands are more secure and I started using them after seeing Robert Cray up close and seen what he was using. [he use's FENDER multi-stands though]. But for the money you can't go wrong with the Rockstands. They WERE $55.00 for the 5-guitar stand when I purchased them. I believe they have increased by $25.00 bucks or so. But..............they are often on sale at Guitar Center. And TODAY is a very good day to check them out being the sale July-4th weekend at GC.

BTW.........They come in a Curved Version also for utilizing the corner of a room. I have a 10-piece sectional couch in my music room. The curved stand works GREAT in the middle of the L-shaped couch.

I use the Warwick stands as well (without the towels etc!!). The rubber is perfectly safe on all finishes including nitro. I have had my Nitro finished guitars on these stands for 3 years now and there are no marks etc. I contacted the company with these concerns when I first bought the stands and they sent me a white-paper on the rubber compound. The foam insulating stuff for plumbing is also safe from what I have read. This is often recommended with the DIY PVC stands...........
