Strat Strings
I know this will cause a landslide, but I have to ask.
If you play a Strat..and you play blues...what's your favorite strings?
I have a JV and a MIM (97)..looking at options!
Thanks!

I've been using D'Addario EXL110 for well over a decade now exclusively on my strats. Great Tone and long life. Some will say go for .11s or thicker for a meatier tone. I've done .11s periodically, but IMHO, tone is in the fingers, and your string height, never could perceive a thicker tone from the .11s. Though I do run .11s on my LP and Tele, but more for the feel that I want on those guitars.

I use Ernie Ball "Regular Slinky" .010-.046. I've tried lighter strings, and to my ears, they adversely effect the tone - especially when playing chords.

EB Regular Slinky's (10-46) here. Tried a bunch of different strings, but I always come back to the Slinky's.

DR Pure Blues (pure nickel/round core) I honestly haven't tried that many electric sets, but the DR's sound great on my CV strats. If you try them, don't stretch them when you put them on. They don't need it.
I'm one of the nuts who uses 11's, so ymmv

I've used .10's most of my life, but recently dropped down to .09's. I liked the way the 9's on my CV felt when I got it and I must admit I really like the Super Bullet ends instead of the ball ends. The bullet seems to make better contact with the channel it rests in, and the balls just get stuck, and move around sometimes. I always used Diaddarios but lately I've found the coating just doesn't last long at all. Maybe it's just me but I wear out a new set of Diaddarios within an hour or two. The 3 treble strings turn black. Don't seem to have that problem now with the Fender strings.
I bought a set of strings to try and I've kept them as emergency backups, I think they're called Maple strings or Mapes strings, something like that. What's neat about them is they come with 2 high E's, 2 high B's, and 2 high G strings. I really like the idea that they come with extras. Though I think instead of the 2nd G string it should come with a 2nd D string, that one's more likely to break then the G string. But whatever, it's still a cool idea.
