Do You Play Video Games??
List your top 3 games of all time!
Mine are:
1- Gran Turismo 2 for the PS1 (Japanese Version) - Best driving simulator ever... despite the awful graphics, the cars handle and respond to mods in the most realistic way even in comparison to 3, 4, and 5 prologue.
2- Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 - Of all the Metal Gear games, and I've played all of them, finished all of them but one... this one has the best plot, the best soundtrack, and was a groundbreaking debut to espionage games... its greatness is yet to be replicated
3- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the N64 - Best Action RPG I've ever played... the soundtrack is enchanting, the puzzles are very clever, the story is "timeless" (no pun intended ), and "Link", the main character, is so easy to control... the game is epic.

Hmmm...that's a tough one. Alright, here goes...
1. Need for Speed 3 Hot Pursuit for computer. This was the first real video game I ever played. I remember my dad bought it thinking he would play it...he played it once, and then it was all mine It combined expensive cars, racing, and high speed police chases. High Stakes and the two Undergrounds were awesome as well. Most Wanted was decent...that was the last NFS I bought though. To me the series kinda died after that...
2. Burnout 3 for PS2. The first game I had for my PS2. It had tons of sweet cars, awesome gameplay and game modes, gorgeous scenery, and most important, epic crashes! And I can't forget to mention the soundtrack...Burnout 3, Revenge, and Paradise introduced me to some of my now favourite bands (Brand New, Amber Pacific, The Bouncing Souls, Bullet for my Valentine.......The list goes on...). Definitely one of my favourite game series.
3. Call of Duty Finest Hour for PS2. CoD has improved alot since Finest Hour, but I think this is still my favourite in the series. The offline single player mode was the BEST of the four WW2 CoD games. The online play had a nice variety of maps from underground factories to desert villages. I actually kinda wish they'd remake the maps for download on WaW :(

I love the NFS series until the 2nd Underground... it went downhill from there with the "Fast & Furious" effect... I can still remember the first time I played NFS 1... I was in the 4th grade

Malikon, how would you rank gameplay, controls, plot, graphics, and soundtrack on BioShock?? I'm looking into getting it once I'm done with Dead Space (which I need to start first... I only play one game at a time )

plot and story on Bioshock is epic.
Graphics and controls are so smooth you don't notice them.
if you like 1930's-1940's music (which I do) the soundtrack is brilliant and very immersive.
How good is Bioshock? It's my favorite game, it ruined me for other games. I'd pull my huge lounge chair up to the tv, turn off the lights, and disappear in the world of Rapture.
I've never played a game that was so creative. Sure you could run around and shoot everything, but that gets boring. The enemies are always on the move, wandering around, so they're never in the same spot twice. Say an enemy walks around the corner, you could shoot him a bunch of times. OR, shoot him once to get his attention, then using the plasmid in your left hand set him on fire. Then chase him down the hall while he's screaming and blazing and jumps into a pool of water. Then using the plasmid in your left hand you shoot lightening into the water, thereby electrocuting him. So what's more fun? Bullets? or Bullets, then fire, then electrocution? It's an easy choice for me, Lol.
the plasmid powers make the game. Set a swarm of hornets loose on someone. Set them on fire. Electrocute them. Set them on fire then have them run into a tornado trap (*which you placed earlier) and watch their flaming screaming bodies get thrown hard into the ceiling and then drop lifelessly (yet still smoking!.)
and that's just the fun of the game mechanics. That's not even scratching the awesome story. Bioshock was the last game I bought around Xmas of 2008, and I've been waiting for Bioshock2 to come out then I'll buy that one. So no games for me in 2009. Why? Because for $60. a game I know none of them could compare to Bioshock.
*(for the record I'd like to play Uncharted2 and Arkham Asylum, but not for $60. each.)
**also, first person shooters are my favorite kind of game. They're extremely immersive for me. I can get "lost in the game" when it's 1st person and I AM the character, instead of 3rd person staring at the characters back the entire time.
So for me, Bioshock gets Five Stars ***** 10 out of 10, but your mileage may vary depending on your game tastes. Personally though I couldn't recommend it enough.

This is a decent review and gives you a feel for the game. Mood, music, action, etc. Not sure what they used to capture the footage, the game itself looks alot better then that, but you get the idea.

That tetris video is scary.
Just found out that God of War 1&2 have been remastered for high def, put on one blu-ray disk, and is being released real soon for ps3. And it's only like 30-40 dollars. What a deal. Looks like I will be buying a game in 2009. (damnit, just when I was out, they pull me back in!)
Still waiting for Bioshock 2 though. I think it comes out Feb/March of next year. Soooo cannot wait for that game.
