If i need inspiration i take an acoustic and go for a long walk in the bush or the desert find a quiet spot and camp out for awhile. Being alone for a few weeks works wonders for your inspiration. I used to take a voice activated micro cassette these days its a zoom H2 for recording.

So i meditated and I feel energized and refreshed, even though Ive been up over 24hrs. jammin out, I recomend it, and again Its nice, Its all about not thinking by just focusing on your breathing while it gets shallower

thanks but you probably really dont want to here me play. im a hack at best and believe me i felt like i had moved miles ahead when i went from considering myself a novice to a hack. the difference in case your wondering is a novice balks or stops when they screw up. a hack just grimmaces makes an adjustment and keeps going. i like rythems and wandering melodies better than leads and i keep pretty good time. i do enjoy acting a fool witha michrophone though, crooning and punking songs as i hear them not necessarily how they were written. oh and i really do have acute narrow angle gloucoma, untreatable, got the surgical scars to prove it. no script though, damnit puff puff give. puff puff give. your messin up the rotation..

Yoga and meditation aren't going to help you find inspiration. I took yoga in college... I was the only guy in the class... Ok, so yoga did help me find something! I wouldn't call it inspiration though. Seriously, get into a physical routine and get on a normal sleep cycle. You will feel much better physically and mentally. Your creativity will flow like never before!

You can do some amazing things with it in terms of stress relief, self improvement, memory enhancement and problem solving to name a few. It's even helped my guitar playing, believe it or not*.

*Keep in mind that I still suck, but not quite as bad as I used to.

There are some jazz improvisation players who think there's a big difference between players who have smoked weed (or other stuff) for years and those who haven't. I think it has more to do with being sensitive to what the other players are playing and improvising with sensitivity and complimenting the group/music as a whole (vs just your solo'ing) as opposed to long term drug use.
