Nope - it's an optical delusion... they all have medium jumbo frets. ;)

I'll second that.. I have one almost just like this one but mine is a one piece Maple neck MIK '89 and it's a Laminate Body... it's very Loud acoustically and has Alnico pups w/ Single ply PG (parchment) i picked off in bay area C/List for $60 Deal of the Year for Me. Awesome player .. Cheers, S.A

Hello Fellow Strat- Squier Players..
I've got a lil Collection going on w/ Squiers. I've had the Black Contemporary one since 1991-92(my first Squier) it's a MIJ '85 w/ Boogie Body Neck Orig un- licensed Floyd Rose/w Schallers & Bartolini HB. also pic'd is 2 MIK Squier's, 'Whitie' is Laminate body and very LOUD! 'Blackie2' is a MIK ST-362 w/ lots of Seperations in Finish and Natural Relic'd as is Whitie. the others are '00 MiIndo Metallic Green Standard, '98 MIC Standard w/ the MIJ Blackie Orig Bridge fitted and Gotoh tuners and a Early Charvel SC bridge Pup. All play very Nicely Together. I never intended to own so many but it's hard to own just one or two. One is also Not pic'd and is a MIK Squier neck on a MIK Samick thin body Strat Blk w/ Tortise PG alnico Pups. I'll post some pic's soon. You'All Got some Mighty Fine looking Squiers Here. Cheers, S.A [IMG] [/IMG]

I've got several Squier guitars, but since we're specifically talking Strats, I thought I'd post a pic of my mutated Bullet. I originally bought this guitar on eBay for $70. When I first got it, It had just a single humbucker and a volume control, thusly:

Although it had a great feeling neck and a hardtail bridge, which I love, it basically had two settings - OFF and SCREAM, even after I replaced the cheesy stock humbucker with a nice Seymour Duncan unit and wired in a coil splitter. Not particularly versatile. But I loved the color, so it looked like it was going to live out its days as a wall decoration if I didn't end up selling it to some aspiring young shredder type.
A couple of months ago I was at home recovering from shoulder surgery, and going nuts from not being able to lift my arm high enough to play. But I could work on the bench, so I decided to turn this thing into a player. I dug out my old router (which I'd never used before) and carved out a couple of cavities for neck and middle pickups, wired up a couple of tone controls, one for the neck & mid, the other for the bridge, and just generally tweaked and tinkered. Here's the final result...

I'm happy to say that it exceeded all my expectations, and is a joy to strap on & plug in. Just one SWEET axe.

Squier Bullet Strat Affinity, Single Humbucker
Hi everyone,
I'm the new guy.
I got this recently from some kid whose Dad bought him this guitar a few years ago. It was sitting in his bedroom gathering dust. The kid decided he didn't want to play guitar and preferred to just hang out with his friends and skateboard. Nothing wrong with that but why not do both??
Anyway, it's a Squier Bullet Strat, Affinity version with a single humbucker. I really like it. Needs some cleaning and now that it's mine, I just HAVE to do some modification on it. Color wise I'll keep it the same but I'll be getting a black bridge, black tuners and a new humbucker...most likely a Seymour Duncan Invader. (I really liked the old Fender Tom Delonge model which this is a cheap copy of more or less). I play mostly pop punk, rock stuff which calls for a good crunch machine!
I dabble in guitar, my primary instrument is bass but playing guitar is super fun!

Squier Bullet rebuild
Hi everyone - here's my first Strat. Picked it up in trade for an old Boss distortion pedal, stared at it for about a week, then tore it apart and re-did it as a wannabe Billy Corgan sig model. I had a lot of fun with it, it'll never be worth anything so I did a little extra customizing with the headstock :-) Here's some befores and then some afters.
I dropped in a pre-wired GFS pickguard along with their Gotoh-style tuners. The headstock logo looks weird up close (I used a clear address label) but from 3+ feet, looks fine.
I'm primarily a drummer, my other guitars are both running humbuckers so it's nice to have some single-coil action. And I have to say, the cleans on this sucker with the new pups are fantastic.

Hand drawn strat
Hello strat lovers. I'm, new to the forum, and thought I'd share some pics of my new strat. I bought it for 50$ canadian off my friend. It is a Squier Affinity strat. I decided to make it my project guitar, first off, I gave it a artistic makeover. I am a graphic designer and illustrator, so naturally I thought I'd do all the artwork myself. Here are some pictures of the guitar. I used paint pens. Turned out surprisingly decent.
--Here are some of my pedals in the background--
--spirals wrap around the neck--
--sanded off the logo on headstock, to make room for my landscape illustration--
more images to come----->

here's my MIJ Squier from 1983 or 1984. the mods were done by previous owner (Sperzel locking tuners, Wilkinson tremelo, EMG SA active pickups).
i'm seriously contemplating a new wired pearl pickguard with passive Alnicos.

Squier Standard Stratocaster - Special Edition Cherryburst
It has a dark MIM Neck and MIM loaded HSS pickguard, so it's now almost a Fender with a Squier body and bridge. The only Fender cherryburst you can get without dropping $1700 for a USA Deluxe.
Love that two-point tremolo set high & flat, you can pull it up a full step (any more is a formula to bust-an-e!) or dive-bomb until the strings are floppy and it still stays in tune. Unfortunately the bridge plate holes are a bit off from MIM spec or it would have a big trem block too.
I think I'm going back to a rare old full USA 1 & 11/16" nut-width Squier Affinity neck I have though. I'd rather play a log than a stick, and it's too easy to push the strings off the neck with the wide string spacing Graphtech nut on the narrower Fender neck.

Got another 51 this week, got another one on the way. Oh how I love the 51's. Haven't done many mods yet, cool S-51 headstock decals and a GFS guard so far. But I plan on doing all the metal in black with white pearloid tuners and swapping out the pickups for either GFS lipsticks or some kind of Dream 90 bridge and Tele neck pup. We'll see, so far all I have ordered is the metal parts. I'll probably put a white "competition" stripe on it too.

Doesn't seem like a problem to me. In any case, here's the Surf Green Squier Bullet I got last week. I may return it, as it's not the Daphne Blue I wanted and the QC was not great (trem was installed ****-eyed and nut is bad).

so ive seen several squiers with floyds and a couple with them actually recessed into the body. how hard would this be to do or how much would it cost to get it professionally done? any tips would help. my strat is really comfortable so i dont wanna have to use a different guitar.
