Squier Classic Vibe Reverse Stratocaster!
Check this one out! I just came across it today. I don't know who Sham Kamikaze is, but I'm sure removing his signature wouldn't be the first time a Squier decal has been removed from a headstock. For anyone who was lusting for an inexpensive Voodoo Strat, it looks like you ship has come in

Yea and for us up here in Canada I wouldn't even want to know what it would cost with international shipping and then customs.

This is weird. If it's only available in Malaysia, why does the website link to a worldwide distributor and include a "find a dealer" link that takes you to retailers in the U.S.? On the other hand, why is it even on the website at all? I just know my life won't be complete until I have one to play alongside my O'Larn Signature Strat!

My assumption would be for the US Retailer to contact the Retailer in Asia and act as the middle man to buy it and bring it into the country and then sell it to you ?

It's still weird. Do you really think any guitar seller would think all that is worth the trouble for a Squier Strat? I'd bet with a little creative shopping, you could find a recently-discontinued Fender Reverse Stratocaster dirt cheap.
It's too bad that Squier's signature Strats are all so Asia-centric. How cool would a Squier Classic Vibe Buddy Holly Stratocaster be? Or a Hank Marvin? Or even a basic boosted Eric Clapton? I really like the idea of Squier artist signature instruments at Squier prices, not that Squier hasn't already made me suffer some serious GAS over the last couple of years!

Oldest trick in the book.
Generate unrequited demand. "You can't have this".
"Why not, I want this".
If there's enough buzz they'd build more and distribute them, but I would not bet my lunch money on this one.
Either way, it "builds credibility" to have an artist series and if you don't distribute, then you don't have to worry about a humiliating failure.

All the Reverse Strats built here in the US have increased in value considerably. The last MIM version which BTW looks almost identicle to the Squier shown above has also kept its value.
I've been looking around for one "dirt cheap" and I'm here to tell you I can't find it. What I did find is a lot of overpriced models. My thought have immediatly drifted to just building one.

Are you sure this is in the Classic Vibe series ? I think it's linked to the Artist Series ...

The story on the guitar on Squier's website says it's part of the Classic Vibe Series. It's probably a CV body and electronics with some of the stuff mounted backwards.

You can make your own twist on Classic vibe series with some modifications. If you click on the Classic Vibe Section it is not there ...

I kinda want the white one (except for the ugly fat 70's headstock) - it's exactly the CV combo I was contemplating putting together from 2 of the classic vibe 50's strats:
White maple neck and white pickguard (from lake placid blue CV 50's)
+ Olympic White body.
Anybody want a lake placid blue with vintage yellow neck & gold pickguard...?

Well personally if I wanted a reverse stratocaster on the cheap I'd just buy a Right Hand Squier Neck, Re-Finish and Re-Decal it, slap it onto a current Strat and call it a day. Worst case, I'd just build another Partscaster using a nice RH Neck.
