How many body pieces on your CV?
Looking closely at my CV60s strat, it looks to be a 2-piece body with the seam about even with the treble side of the bridge. Are they all 2-piece bodies?

Nope. My CV50 strat is three piece. I've heard of one, two and three piece bodies. Mine is highly resonant and lively so I have no complaints at all.
My CV50 tele is one piece as far as I can tell.

Some are two, most are three. Remember, these days even some high-end custom shop instruments are matched 2-piece bodies. Doesn't mean that they are any lesser..............

Actually, two or more pieces just make it stronger and the body moves less with age...

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard of some MIM strats with up to 5-piece bodies, so I consider a 2-piece body pretty good.

There is a <SUPER SECRET> music store here that has a 50's CV in sunburst, and I could not for the life of me see that it was anything other than a one piece body - same clear grain throughout and almost matching on the back side. Amazing looking. Unless it's laminated in a tricky way, I'd have to say this one was one chunk of wood.

Both my 50's and 60's have a 2pc body. I've seen quite a few in stores that are 3pcs thou.
With the new colours it will be a lot harder to notice compared to the sunburst finishes.

the way to tell if a body is laminated is if the black burst covers the whole belly cut out and the whole arm cutaway. if its only covering half then its solid. this is how they hide the laminated edge its sanded at an angle smooth then coverd in black paint making it invisble. so if its like that its cheap crap
