SRV Project Under Way
After getting all the parts I need my employer sent me out of town for three days im finally getting started.
Pulled the stock pickguard and am taking a break from soldering up the new electronics.
Heres what I found so far..Got the tip off the GFS trem arm but cant get the fender aged white tip on..May try soakng the new tip in some warm water and see if I can get it on. Seems like the arm is alittle different diameter than the fender tip.
Gold screws ordered from Guitar Reasearch to mount the CRL switch are wrong types..Heads are countersunk and dont sit flush with the pickguard..Found the gold pickup screws fit fine..Good thing I had extra ones.
Removed the stock trem and dropped in the GFS MIM gold trem..Screw hole lined up fine..Was really concerned about this..Block is sure alot bigger than the stock one. Didnt reinstall the springs yet..Still trying to dry fit everything and check for proper fit..
I ordered a gold jack and plate From GFS and for some reason they dont give you the gold mounting screws for the plate..Tried some of the gold pickguard screws I have and they were the right size to mount the plate..
Should be finished soldering in a while and im going to check to see if the pickguard hole line up..Im assuming they wont so im going to have to use some toothpicks and redrill the body..Once I get the pickguard installed I can apply the SRV decals..
Once I get the electronics , trem and decals done im moving on to the neck and changing out the nut ,tuners and string trees.
Im hoping to get this somewhat done by tomorrow..Am taking photos as I go so keep watching this thread.

I had that same problem because I don't use a Fender arm either. I filed down the outer diameter of the end of the new arm and got the tip on that way. Worked like a charm and didn't take too much time.
Good luck!

New pickguard wired..Just have to connect the jack and ground wire from the trem claw and its ready to test..Used fender tex mex pups ,crl switch, cts pots and a switchcraft jack 022 orange drop capacitor..Need to run to radioshack and see if they have any shielded wire to wire the jack.

Got everything wired up..Needed a longer shielded wire to hook up the jack..had to use a audio cable and cut the phono plug off and use the wire..For some reason the vol pot is hitting the body routing so im going to have to dremel it out some more..Didnt have this problem with my other project but it was a pretty tight fit. Ive got a pretty slight hum from the pups may need to check and clean up the wiring. Pickguard is slightly covering the trem plate near the jack so I may have to shave it down alittle to clear as it wont pivot correctly.
I was suprised to find 10 out of 11 screw holes on the pickguard actually lined up with the holes in the body..
