I can't tell you how many times I've watched that particular vid since I became aware of it a couple of years ago. Gary Moore is one of my 5 favorite guitarists of all time, and though he's more associated with a Les Paul than a Strat, he plays the hell out of that one in the vid you posted. Thanks for sharing this!

Holy Moly!!!!!! That Gary Moore clip is mind-blowing! Knew he was a talented guitarist, but that surpassed my expectations. That dude STRANGLES that strat and makes it howl for mercy....

Why is this under Squire????
Gary`s performance at the Strat Pack is jaw dropping - i didn`t know the human face had so many expressions for "pain of a great note..."
Hank Marvins Sleepwalk is the other highlight at this show, the rest was boring!

I saw Gary Moore in 2007. He is pretty good live. And he played a Telecaster too (except for 'Still got the blues').

I love his blues stuff to death, but there is a wealth of older rock stuff he's done..
Just listen to the his sound on the very end of the song... and this is live - wow..

I can't find a Youtube clip of it but if you get a chance have a listen to Walter Trouts version of Red House done live in Denmark. You will not believe the tones that man can get out of his Strat. I have been a Gary Moore fan for years and have styled my playing after him. I have both of his Song books, and have learned just about every song in them. I have several LPs because of him.

IIRC the show was to celebrate the strats 50 years and no other notable strat-weilders like clapton, beck, blackmore, knofler, gilmour, cray, EJ, Yngwie were invited. the show was low key on strat. brian may even switched from a strat to his red one to do some soloing. the only consistent strat player there was phil palmer who played most of the solos and was musical director for the show. the show closed with ron wood on acoustic for crissakes! were were the strats? would have been better if the the players who had strat signature models were there.

If I'm not mistaken, that's Pino Palladino on bass in the Red House Vid. Very cool.

walter trout IMO overplays, all fire and fury. i saw a video of john mayall with walter and coco montoya on guitars. trout was speeding all night, while coco sped up and laid back, rocking, funky and bluesy. walter finished all of his licks and tricks by the third song he soloed and just repeated them for the rest of the night while coco had always something new for every song he soloed on.
check out gary moore live at montreux and listen to him play freddie king's the stumble and roy buchanan's the messiah will come. those are lessons on how to rock and how to play with feel.
