That sure is a beauty, looks really clean. Ive seen the right hand models online from anywhere to $1500 to $3000...of course this is a rarer lefty so that price the seller is asking may be well in the ballpark..offer $2500 and see if he bites. Hope this helps.

Others here will probably know more.

Very good condition, tight neck pocket, lefty, maybe frets need crowning (lower frets - maybe the fotos are bad).
Fair price because itīs a lefty and in great condition.
Itīs a very good price in Euro (about 2300).

Cheers,
Robin

They sure haven't held back on the photos.
Looks well worth the asking price.

It is definitely overpriced. Around here, even in mint condition with the hard shell case and all the "case candy" a 1978 Strat, even a lefty would maybe bring $2500.

I have a similar (albeit righty) mid 1970s Strat (and also admittedly mine is not in cosmetically that nice condition)... But personally I would never pay the kind of prices these things go for these days, they just aren't worth it, not even the better ones. I bought mine back in the early 1990s when they were cheap. Nowdays there are just way too many far nicer new Strats on the market for significantly less $$$. I'd rather have a 2000's MIA Standard than any late CBS Strat, and I can buy those any old time for $500-$1000.

My sentiments exactly. You could get a post-2008 lefty American Standard, drop in a set of CS69s and spend $200 to have a quality luthier to go thru it and still have enough money left over to buy a 59 Bassman Reissue or any number of nice boutique amplifiers. You would unquestionably have a better guitar. The CBS-era strats are really not all that (especially the later years like this)...and I should know because I used to own one.

Looks great, but I agree still overpriced.
Being a lefty does make it more rare, bur rate does not always equal value.
Much smaller market.
I have seen vintage lefty Gibsons at shows be much cheaper than the eighty counterparts.
I'm a lefty btw

it has to be one of the cleanest 70's I've seen in a while, but way over priced !! even being a Lefty I would only pay $2500 tops, and it would have to play real nice.. which they usually do not. they do have a tone of their own though... I was a lefty, but had to switch to right hand playing.. been playing right hand now for around 20 years, still once in awhile I'll play left just for kicks.. I can only chord left but gets a lot of looks when you switch it up lol

Very clean, very nice example overall with the case and candy. The price is very optimistic though, even as a lefty.

I paid Ģ650 in 2007 for a clean '78 lefty with case... I'd love to have the black one though

I almost bought a '78 Strat from this seller about two years ago, but something about the all caps type and words like:

"LOOK AT THE VERY BIG AND CLEAR PICTURES OF THIS BABY,

AND SEE FOR YOURSELF."

Freak me out. I mean, the pictures are very detailed and the serials match up etc... But it still seems so foreign/overseas scam style and whacked. Like I might get screwed on the deal!

Also, WAY overpriced.

Looks like a nice clean piece but seems rather high-priced for a strat from this time period. IMHO your money (and less of it) would be better spent on a brand new vintage reissue of your choice. My first strat, which I still have, was a 1980 model. Other than the great bridge pickup, it is nothing to write home about.

Wow... Thanks for the feedback all.. Some great insite. I thought it is overpriced to... But it looks freakin awesome. I think I could get a CS for way less then that price.

Its just way hard finding cool lefties.

So based on the comments... Around $2500 sounds like max price?

I donīt think you will see many of them in that great condition again.
Itīs a lot of money no question.
Maybe $2500 is the max most people would pay.
If thatīs the right guitar, right finish, right neck you should buy it.
I donīt think they are getting cheaper the next years.

Cheers,
Robin

I would be offering $1500-1800 for it. Even if it a "rare" lefty.
