My Eric Clapton Candy Green

Hi Folks, I bought a new EC strat a few months back (will get some pics up soon!) & would like to get some expert feedback from you all on how changing the white pickguard to the mint might look. I have really never been a big fan of white. Anyone have the same colour & change the pickguard?
Cheers, Chop

Mine has a white pearloid 3 ply on it, I personally like it better than the single ply 50's style pickguard. Mint green probably wouldn't look too hot with the candy green, I held one up to mine and thought the 2 shades of green clashed.. although I DO like a mnt green p/g on my surf green strat... so I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Great color. I think it's my favorite.

I don't think the mint green would look bad with it but I haven't seen it live to be sure.

I feel the same way, Joey B. Think I will check out the pearloid pickguard & see.

Pearloid always look classy.

On changing the pickguard/scratchplate: the pickups are attached so will need to be unscrewed. Just take care not to pull the cables and you'll be fine. You'll need to reset the pickup heights on the new pickguard

All do-able. Hope this helps

Chop2 - My Avatar is the EC-Strat in Candy Apple Green. I'll go to my grave believing that this is the best-looking guitar I've ever seen. Are you still intending to upload some pics??
I'm gonna change the scratchplate on my Squier CV Strat, and want some pointers as to how to do it correctly. I tried to do one years ago, and made a right b*lls of it!!

The pearloid will look Great. I never liked the single-ply [THIN] white. I don't mind the thicker aged white single-ply like Fender used on the 04 50th Anniversary Strat.

Anyway here's my Black EC.
