Hello all...
I've been trying to learn guitar since December of last year. Slow Process.
Anyhow- I recently acquired a 2001 Fender American Deluxe Strat HSS in Aged Cherry Burst. I picked it up thinking I would just resell it but changed my mind. It is my first Fender and I can't say I was really drawn to Strats until I actually played this one.
So does anyone else have one of these, I'd like to hear/ read a little more about it. Tips or tricks for it?
ETA- Corrected color and model

Welcome to Strat-Talk.com! We're glad you are here.
The Fat Strat is indeed HSS but not all HSS Strats are labeled as a "Fat Strat."
As always, we'd love to see photos.
Welcome again.

Welcome to the forums and get ready for a lot of tweaking and modding! It is addictive and you have picked a nice guitar to start with........most of us here have too many guitars but it does become a passion! The quest for the ultimate strat is always strong.........

Here's a picture- Seems to glow a little with the flash I guess.
I guess I'm not sure if it's a fat strat or just an HSS. The single coil pickups are fender noiseless, not sure about humbucker type.
Are these Alder or Ash? What about the neck type- I hear the necks referred to as certain shapes-?
What would have come in the hardcase along with this model? It has the strap locks but is there a certain strap that snaps into them?
Sorry for all the newb questions- Thanks for any assistance. It's a great guitar, certainly more than I "need" at this point but it sure is fun.

Hello JohnQ, very nice geetar you have...does the volume knob push in, in the center, if so, you have one heck of a noisemaker.. the strap locks look shaller's and yes you need the mating piece, they can be had online or through your favorite guitar shop, as they screw onto the strap, any good strap will take them, if a picture is needed yell. I will post one for you...On the neck radius, my guess it would be 9.5 inchs, the higher the number the less curved it is...

Thank you Dan P. The volume knob does not push in, but I thank you for asking because it got me to pull the knob off and finally peel the plastic off that was still stuck under it.
I'll look for the locks online, thanks.
I'm just using a little Vox DA5 and all the different sounds I can get from the guitar alone are incredible.

Here are the specs- I don't have the tremelo arm that was supposed to come with it or any of the other case candy I guess it's called. Jeff at Fender didn't indicate what was included in the case with the guitar so if anyone knows I'm curious.
