Please help!

I'm a Gibson junkie who has always wanted to own a Strat. I found one this weekend and bought it. So far I have discovered that it is a 2000 American Standard Strat HSS. I have been unable to find specific info for this year model and I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not it should have a Seymour Duncan HB in the bridge position. Also, the color appears to be Teal Green Metallic. Can any of you Strat guys can help me out?

If it were me I would write fender an email, give them the serial number and ask them what it is.
... and welcome to the forum!

The closest I can find is from the 2001 Fender Frontline. They have a Hot rodded American series, It is called the American fat Strat texas special. It came in teal blue metalic and had a Seymour Duncan Pearly gates in the bridge position. The singles are texas specials. I am sorry I don't have a 2000 frontline. It seems they were quite a collectors item being the millenium.
This is the only one I could find with that color combo and the Seymour Duncans . They also had a double fat strat with those Pearly gates in them. All other seem to have the Fender DH1 humbucker.
Hope that helps.

It sounds like an American Fat Texas Special made 2000 thru 2003, Fender called them the Lone Star Strat 1996 thru 1999. They have 2 Texas Specials and a Seymour Duncan in the bridge. I have pictures of 2 of mine in the Strat Pics Thread in this section, pic #126 and #166, also pic #149 is a photo of my Roadhouse Strat with 3 Texas Specials made 1996 thru 1999 and made under the name Texas Special Strat 2000 thru 2003.

WOW! It appears that you guys have nailed it! Utilizing your input, I did some more investigation and found pictures of Strats that all share certain characteristics. The mother of pearl covers are especially consistent with this model regardless of color. I found a picture of a 2001 Strat that looks EXACTLY like mine other than the fact that mine has a maple fretboard. The Fender parts list for this guitar is also consistent regarding color. I have yet to pull the electronics, but I will in order to verify this info. The guitar needs some adjustment and a bit of TLC anyway so I may as well get any dust that may be lurking about! Thanks you guys!
