Serial number question

Hi all. I've noticed that when I look up the serial # chart for Made In Mex. Strats, they are listed as two years, such as 2003 - 2004. Does anyone know if info. ia available to help pinpoint which year it was made?
I know this question has probably been addressed before, but all of my other older Fenders, as well as my Gibsons and Martins have serial #'s which are specific to the year. Maybe I just haven't found the correct chart. Thx, JP

Fender s/n info

email your question and s/n to:

consumerrelations@fender.com

They are real good about sending info and you should get an acual mfc. date and the spec. of that guitar as built from someone there.

This is the only way I now of.

Have you removed the neck and looked for the neck date on the bottom of the heel of the neck? That's the best way to date most Fender guitars.

Sometimes there are dates on the bottom of the pickups or in the pickup cavities of the body or in the neck cavity of the body.

Just loosen or remove the strings and unscrew the neck, there's nothing to be afraid of.

+1 on the neck date! On my MIM strat, there is a date on the bottom of the heel. Remember that Fender's system of serials was/is never the most accurate thing.........

Got a quick reply back from Fender informing me that my soon to be delivered Sunburst beauty was made on 10/22/03, along with all of the specs for it. Thx for the tip, great info.
Now I'm going to see what info they have on my original '75 hardtail.
