Don't be too hard on yourself, that's still a nice neck and body. You paid a little too much but it's not junk or anything. For a couple of bucks more you'll have a nice guitar. At most you're out the cost of a decent used bridge and some pickups and pots, which you likely would have been swapping out anyway.

buying guitars off fleabay is VERY risky. you are unable to hold the guitar in you hands. you are unable to inspect the guitar. you are at the mercy of the seller to be truthful AND knowledgeable about the guitar they're selling. chances of that are slim, IMO.
of the 4 guitars i've bought off fleabay, THREE of them had problems that were not disclosed by or known by the seller. three out of four.
it's to the point where i would not advise anyone to buy a guitar off fleabay that's worth more than about $150.

I've bought and sold more than 200 guitars on eBay, never had a problem.

That bridge looks like it is off of a USA Peavey Predator:

Possibly, but if it has 6 holes underneath it could have just been added later, but the bridge is most definitely from an early USA Peavey

If you're un-satisfied / Not Happy... open a PayPal dispute. They'll make sure
that you receive your refund by locking his account for further transactions
until he makes good. You'll be out the return shipping but PayPal will require
that you return it with a trackable service / #.
I, just like you made a Strat purchase a year ago as the Strat was mis
represented on the Ebay listing and Paypal made it right. You spent a good
chunk of change not to be satisfied with your purchase and even having to
question that you purchased partscaster / peavey-fender hybrid. For that
money you could have a very nice 100% Positive Fender Product Strat....
Good luck Brother!

That's definately a Peavey trem. The whole body might be a Peavey Predator body, if the number of pickguard screws is any indication. :

I just hate ebay surprises. I think seller needs to see a pic of peavey strat config and maybe that'll change his mind. It is possible that he had nothing to do with the swap so. maybe a pic for comparison will change his mind. Good luck, and remember that's still one helluva nice neck if it plays good.

I did say from the start I thought this was a fake, but I got hit with dodgy PMs from people telling me I didn't know what I was talking about.
If you used Paypal, and really don't want the guitar, just lodge a dispute. They'll get you your money back as long as you return the guitar. It's a pain, but at least you get your cash back and learn a lesson.
FWIW I like ebay a lot for buying and selling guitars. You get the odd guy who doesn't have a clue, but that's just like anything in life. You got a bad deal this time, next time, you'll get a good deal.

Well, yeah, I've had issues with guitars I've bought on ebay too. My Jackson KE3 was listed as having Seymour Duncan pickups, then I got it and it had Duncan Designed. But I asked the seller about it and he refunded me some money so, since I got a good deal in the first place, it just made a good deal better.
Same with the Squier I just posted about in the Squier section. It LOOKED good, but it had quite a few issues not mentioned in the listing. But I got it for £92 (about $130?) and the guy refunded me £20, so I got it for £72! I mean, come on, the neck alone is worth that! I got a good deal, even if I DID have to rewire the thing, and put a new nut on it.
Point is, sure, you get some dodgy stuff on ebay, but decent sellers are willing to help you out with some money back if you need it to restore the guitar to the condition it was listed as.
Don't look too badly on ebay. I like it a lot for bargains, even if it's a total rip off for sellers now.
