2 piece ash strat... anything special??

just bought a mint condition 2000 American Standard sunburst strat and the owner said it's better than your average Am Standard because it has a 2 piece ash body. can anyone confirm this? got a great deal on it either way at $625.00, just wanted to know if there is actually something special about the 2 piece ash strat???

I thought the Ash models were all "natural" finishes only --not SB? And bluebook value for a mint 2000 is right around $625. I sold a SB 2000 AmSTD Strat for $550 a few years back. Maybe they've gone up in price.

I've not looked at an AmStd in so long, I could be way off base on the pricing.

But according to the Fender catalog the 2000 AmStd finished in SB is made of Alder. Maybe others will know more about it. The "Natural Ash" model was a $100 upcharge.

Ash is $675. to $750.
