Highway One
Called the guitar seller today and drove all the way there to see it...turns out
they had only the HSS model...(i prefer the single coil world)
I was completely taken back when i saw the axe!
When they saw bare bones they mean it...no shiny stuff at all on this baby.
Its raw ...
Hopefully the other store up in Atlanta will have one...anxious to see how
those pickups sound.
Anybody here have One ?...and what are your feeling towards it ?
(Just found out the single coil models are special order items)

I own a Sunburst-coloured Highway One and love it. I really dig not only the look but the feel of the finish. I don't have much to compare it to as far as tone goes as I own only one other strat and which is just 6 years older and essentially the same configuration, but cheaper (Made in Mexico, HSS, same woods, etc.). I chose this guitar after a day of playing probably a dozen different strats (including the SRV edition) and found it had the best sound for the price. I do remember being really impressed with American Deluxe's which cost nearly twice as much... though obviously not impressed enough. ;)
I have read some reviews that did not like the neck or jumbo frets so I guess that's up to personal preference. I love em. Even if you did pick up the HSS model, there's nothing really stopping you from getting a new pickguard and replacing that humbucker with a single coil. :D

Thanks for the input...I already have a MIM (HSS) thats pretty nice....
Somedays I just like that single coil sound....other days it dont matter.
Definatly gonna go play a Hwy1 tommorow and see how the neck is.
If I like it..Im gonna throw down and get it

Saying all that, the Bridge Single Coil is rather left alone, on my strats anyway; although I may use it occasionally if I roll off the tone.
Perhaps a HSS would be more useful, but I guess I prefer the trad strat look too. I might try a stacked type bucker to keep the SSS look.

This is my HWY 1/ Warmoth homebuild, I have S/Duncan Antiquity's in the neck, and RWD in middle...the bridge P/U in this guitar makes it in my opinion. It's just a Lil 59' with the coil split push pull knob..Th bridge/middle (position 4) is to die for...with or without the humbucker ...check out the sound files on the Duncan website, I think you will agree!!!

It started it's life like this

Thanks guys for sharing...This decision is a tough one,
I just got about half way to the guitar
shop today and turned around and came back.
Looks like I am gonna go with my gut and get the Single coil model,
...order it on the net via next day shipment for 30.00 extra bucks.
(Wine red in color)

Nice looking Strat's...
did you set up the bridge where it floats or do you take it
down to where the springs hold the bridge to the wood
Just wondering if ther people do the makeshift Hardtail trick

I prefer my bridges floating. I tend to use the trem a lot and I like to pull up. I don't find that tuning loss happens frequently enough to be an issue, but then again I don't tend to do massive dives with it either.

Mine is adjusted to go 2 steps up and 1/2 step down so its cranked down to the body pretty much. When it was blue I fastened it down ala hardtail, but after my attempt at refinishing, I just felt like having the option of a trem
