Well, it might help to Google "Fender Stratocaster Tremolo Springs". I did and came up with plenty of options.

Here's just two I found:
http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,...on_Spring.html
http://www.musicpower.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=XPTFNKAB-1643

I found some for cheaper at Acme Guitar Works and I would have suggested them, but recently I've heard of delayed and unreceived orders from them.

By the way, you can also tighten the craw that holds the springs to the body to tighten up your Trem. If you have space between the wood in the body to the back edge of the craw and most folks do, then simply tighten the screws holding the craw (moving it closer to the wood) and it will put more pressure on the existing springs you have already.

Hi Strat Talk

I appreciate you looking into this but thats not what im looking for.... Sorry its probably the way ive explained it.

You know where you screw in the arm for the trem, when thats in there seems to be a bit of give and i was told this could be reduced/fixed by placing a small spring in there.

Hopefully that makes sense.

yes there is a spring in the space where the trem-arm are screws in (falls out easily if you play alot with the arm out). I too thought at first you were talking about the tension provided by the back springs and depth of the screws as Strat-Talk did as well...

If you are a DIY hack, like me, you might want to try taking the spring out of a click pen and cut it down to size. If it works, good on ya. If not, it didn't cost you anything.

bob, those springs are fairly stout for a small spring, I'm not so sure a flimsy spring would work...I may be wrong of course.....
