Truss Rod Repair?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/assistance. I'm somewhat of a newbie here.

I'm pretty sure my truss rod let go on my 1989 Strat (Corona). I'm hoping to find someone who can fix it and thought I'd ask here. It's a rosewood board, so I figure the right luthier can steam off the board, replace the truss rod, and put the board back on. It's easy to ship a neck just about anywhere, so I was hoping someone here knows a good place I can contact and see what I can work out.

I know the repair is probably pricey, but there is something about keeping the guitar and neck together ... not the least of which is 20 years of playing it. I did buy an American Standard maple board neck which I put on for the time being, but I do want to have the all original guitar in reasonable playing shape if I ever want to pass it on.

Any ideas?

Thanks all. Rock on. Peace. Out.

What exactly are the symptoms? There are some specialty tools for repairing truss rod probs that don't involve pulling the fingerboard.

Thanks all. Moonie ... I was giving the TR a slight tweak when a loud POP was heard, even by my darling (and most ardent fan!) across the room, who said immediately ... "Oooh, that's didn't sound good". The neck now has a nice bow to it, and the truss rod wrench spins around like it's doing the hokey pokey with no affect whatsoever on the upward lilt.

Senor Roy ... thank you sir. This is exactly what I was looking for. Being that they are a short drive from where I have to put in my day slave hours, I will take it over and have them take a look and advise. Couldn't be more perfect!

Sounds like a new rod is in order. There are ways to replace it without removing the board.

Take the old one out and see where it broke.
