Glue off of pick guard.

Hello All,
Just bought a first run (1996) Jimmie Vaughan Sig Strat . The axe has never been played. When I pulled the plastic off of the pick guard there is a faint residue left over. Even the circular sticker has left a faint mark. How can I clean this?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Ed

If its anything like my HWY 1...you can see a white void where the JV sticker was, and the rest of the pickguard has that wonderful aged look.

The glue will come off with some rubbing alcohol.
But that sticker void is gonna stay...Id look into a Fender replacement in "parchment" or "mint", thatll cost you bout $30. Avoid 60's pickguards and other aftermarket offerings from others than Fender.
