Its a Telecaster japan '62 Re-issue Bigsby with NECK ISSUES

Frets stop the string from vibrating when bending more than a half tone. This happens from the 10th fret and up. Ive had it set up, but the guy who did it said Ive got a "problem guitar". I havent lost hope though. Thinking it might be the neck, but Im no guitar tech. So please help me out if youve got a clue!

If it's not the action & neck relief then I'd guess it could use a good fret job.

Yeah, the frets could be an issue. Could there be a shim issue: does one need to be added, removed, or re-sized? Shims seem to be part of the deal with bigsbys and teles. Or, is the nut cut correctly?

Just my two cents, but when a tech says, "problem guitar." I would say seek a second opinion. The MIJ stuff has a very solid rep earned over a long period of time. All of the above can be fixed by a competent tech if you like the guitar and want to keep it.

That's as detailed as he gets with an explanation ?

If so, sounds like he's not very interested in fixing guitars.

Anyway, it's real common for that area of the neck to develop a "rise" over time, which needs to be leveled out, to get good string action setting. But, you can only set it so low, with a 7" radius fret-board, even when "all is well" with the neck.
