Locking Tuners for a MIM neck

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a pair of locking tuners for a 60th anniversary MIM neck. I'm not sure but I believe the tuner holes are 10mm?

I'm also looking for a nice tremolo for the body as well. The body is a MIM '05 midnight blue body. It has 6 screw holes in it so I assume it takes a 6 point bridge? I've heard Wilkinson bridges are nice but does anyone have other suggestions. I want to keep it under $100 on ebay so no Callaham please.

Thanks in advance

I have a MIM 50's classic with Gotoh Vintage locking tuners; they work well and look great! I have heard that you can't go wrong with Wilkinson bridges; I have a telecaster with one and it seems to be very good quality-wise.

Thanks for the welcome!

Those gotohs look great but I'm really not sure of the fit. On my project neck (60th ann. MIM neck) there are 2 screw holes to the left of each tuning hole. I don't want to drill or modify the neck at all. Are these a direct replacement?

Attached is a photo.

Also, I think I will be getting a Wilkinson trem, not sure yet but I'll post pics! Thanks.

I think you can get bushings if the holes are too big but the existing holes you have may show (a bit). The screws on the vintage klusons are to the left so the body of the tuner will cover your holes except maybe the very last one. (high E).

thaus is right about the very first new screw hole at the bottom showing, were you ever to try and go back to the originals on this MIM neck.

Stew Mac has some conversion bushings for these Gotoh vintage lockers. The 10 mm holes in the MIM neck are not always bored as precise as the US Fenders, but I always found the conversions could be fitted well and worked great. Always drill those 7 holes in the maple very carefully, you don't want tiny screws breaking off in the maple.

Those index holes on the back of the headstock for the stock tuners will be totally covered up. Be careful when re- contouring that neck "Tadeo Gomez Style" not to enlarge the "sweet spot" too much; and watch carefully how close the end of the vintage tuner body comes to the top of the headstock on the Teles. Strats, no problem.

Fender also sells locking tuners that will fit...they look like this, and have the 2 nubs that fit the holes you already have...you can find them on ebay for around 60-90 dollars
