(Pre-CBS)Is this the real deal????

Hey guys, I found this posting and I don't know everything about dating pre cbs strats but this one smells fishy to me. I didn't think that a 63 would have the fat "F" Fender logo on it. Also, he says that the color is custom coral pink and it looks like fiesta red to me. Was that color available in 63? So I thought I'd check with some of you experts on the subject, because if it's not, than this guy needs to be flagged a scam!!!!
What do ya think?

That decal didn't come out until mid-1964. And you're right the color looks like Fiesta Red. I'm not sure which colors came out when, but I've seen '62 Coral Pinks and '64 Fiesta Reds.

You'd have to take this guitar apart and inspect every item to be sure enough to spend $39,000 on it. If it is a custom color '63... and I doubt it's a '63, it would be worth maybe $45,000 to $50,000. So, even though it's not cheap I'd be very careful.

As mentioned already ONE string tree is stock.

Machine heads aren't right either-63 Kluson's had oval shaped knobs and what's up with the plug jack? Shell Pink was a custom color 60-63 but this looks more like a faded Dakota Red to me. Here's what a real '63 should look like 1963 Fender Stratocaster guitar 63 Fender Strat guitar collector info vintage pre-CBS

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I'm not in the market for something like that. I just ran across it and thought it looked fishy and I think I may flag this guy because someone may get screwed on this one.

here's my old 62/62 Strat, held by my sons friend.

Now my son

Pics taken circa 1971 and are scans of old pics.
Looks like Fiesta Red to me, although we called it Salmon Pink back then. Actual guitar was a bit lighter and the same as my current Custom Shop 56 Strat, which is Fiesta Red. So colour was available back then, at least in the UK

Unfortunately, I sold the guitar back in the 80s

I have had 3 genuine pre cbs strats whihc kept their original body finish but had had the neck and headstock refinished because the logos fell off .. I mena they were falling off over 30 yrs ago when i got my first and in the mid late 70s it was hard to get a logo .. so someone might have just put on the only logo they could get but a long time ago - its hard to tell from photo but the guitar could easily be ok but with new logo, neck refin and the extra tree.. dont forget these grs were selling for 200-300 dollars in the early 70s in London ! they werent at all valuable !
