Luxury problem

This post is also in TDPRI Stratocaster section.
I think this is the place for it to ask .

I always wanted a "real" Strat tone next to my rather dark sounding Les Paul 40th ann. and my Texas Telecaster. I do like the Fat single coil sound.
And I donÂ’t like the Thin Ice pick sound or the Mid driven Texas specials sound.

The sound i'm after is a warm and open single coil sound,
and an edge off bell like rinkel. More the early SRV Texas blues style.
IÂ’m not going to use it in heavy metal or High Gain situations.
The Amp is an EL34 Koch Powertone in a 2 * 12 " Celestion Vintage 30 Cab.

I have the opportunity to buy One of these Guitars for more or less the same price "1600 euros"
A second hand custom shop in Coral Sunset (Old Pink)

Here is a link:

w Fat 50 pickups, Ash body.

Or this very nice new American '62 reis in Olympic white:

I do like them both, the Custom shop for the absolute nice workmanship and the fat 50 pups.
The Vintage for the cool colour and the "growl" of the Vintage pup's when mildly driven.

Two problemsÂ’s the colour of the custom shop and the really fat U style neck.
The "7,5 board radius for the Vintage.

The John Mayer signature is also an option.

Anny experiences please help me out.
And I can not make up my mind, after playing them all time after time.

Best regards
Chris

Well, there are many pluses and minuses here and only you can decide how they all add up.

The CS is worth more because it's a CS model. But if you don't like the color and the neck size then it probably won't matter that it's a CS model. The only way to look at that as a plus is the higher potential resale price.

The '62 RI is great. Do you like Rosewood necks? It should have a thinner neck too, and probably thinner sounding pickups. I love the '60's Strats.

Lastly, the JM Strat is supposed to be nice. I haven't played one yet. It should be a cool guitar, as well.

As I said, only you can decide how all the pluses and minuses add up.

When you can't choose, you should get all of them!

If you don't like the fat U-shape neck you should maybe get something else because it's not nice to play a guitar which neck feels akward. The '62 is a really really nice guitar, I have one and I love it. As Strat-Talk said '62 has a thinner neck and it's C-shape.
