Glad I can share.

The pickguard is not original to the guitar, but is original Fender from the '60s...

I got it to replace the original cracked single ply white one that I still have in a drawer
before it was possible to buy third party ones...

BTW, the "quote" button is broken...

if I take out the ="Strat-Talk" in the opening tag it quotes properly...

Testing the quote function. It worked for me yesterday.

I see it's working. Please try it again for me?

Everything inside the tags is unmodified by me after hitting the "quote" button...

I'm using Safari version 2.0.3 but that shouldn't matter unless it's just a viewing problem on my end.

The quote in your post seems fine....

I found the problem. It's this new version of PHPBB it has a bug in the quote feature.

The odd thing is that the bug only effects a poster if they have HTML turned on. I have it turned off, but for no real reason. I usually have it turned on. I just noticed today that it was off. So, since I have HTML off, it works for me and since you must have it on, it doesn't work for you.

I found a fix and installed it.

Because I can "edit" your post, I resubmitted your post above after I installed the fix and it now seems to work.

Thanks

It works for me with html enabled. I use Firefox so maybe it depends on the browser ?

Seems fine now. Whatever you did worked.

Thanks to you for the fix and for doing this board in the first place....

The first owner was in a Gospel band who lived in Fullerton, Cali.

He wanted an all white guitar for the Gospel image so he took it in to Fender and
had it painted all white.

The 2 tone sunburst is still under the white overspray.

Is the fretboard maple?
It's a very indistinguishable colour; I can't say what wood it is...

The neck is solid maple that has aged over the last 51 years to that color...

Hey Claude

Claude,

Here's my 64 Olympic White Strat we've already discussed along with your fascinating "Gospel" Strat over on the TDPRI.

wow to both Frank and Claudel. i have recently fallen for the 62- rosewood white look. yours frank is exactly the guitar i like - i love the whites of the mint pickguard, pickups and body.
was thinking about getting a CIJ reissue...
that and my other addiction, the big headstock w/maple 3ts 68 model. ah well. weird how these things happen.
