That's how I do it. Hard cases are just a PITA for weekly band practice, but I ain't gonna put my LP or my Gretsch hollow body in a gig bag. My Fenders? Gig bag, and no worries.

i have one beat up case that fits the strat or tele and one beat up case that fits my acoustic or stuffed with a sweater as well my resonator...

my only gig bag fit my resonator but orange tabby who will not be ignored without penalties decided during a pelican crisis five years ago to express his displeasure with my work schedule by urinating on it... after treating with vinegar followed a few years of isolated storage it still smelled horrible and i tossed it...

There is no way to get rid of cat pee. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

A roadrunner soft case. It's got pockets, but protects like a hard case. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Acoustic goes in a good gig bag

Hard case any time any of my guitars leave the house.

Only exception is my pawnshop Yamaha classical in a Yamaha padded gig bag.

i have a hard case for every one of my guitars.

you can usually find a fender tweed case on eBay for 100 bucks shipped and almost any guitar will fit in them.

I have hard cases for all my guitars, I had p/u a couple SKB ($110.00) cases which I now use those instead of taking my original cases to gigs, I’d rather bang these up than the original case, like CS cases. I have a prototype 82’ Steinberger that only has a gig bag. That no longer leaves the house.

It starts to get funny when the thing that protects the guitar needs protecting. What's next? Cases for cases? :D

I wouldn’t be surprised if that is next, gig bags for your cases. I know it is funny, but, Well a limited edition Custom Shop Case, what’s it worth? Another thought, you have your high end CS Strat & the COA & Case candy is in there also? It easier to just grab another case, for the gig. I agree with you & hey it works for me.

A hard case for everything. If it doesn't come with one it gets one. ;)

I do mine the wrong way round really in that my guitars live in cases at home but go to gigs in a gig bag. The reason being with my guitar on my back and amp in one hand (with emergency bits/leads etc. in the cab!) I can do the in/out run in one trip. No messing. Simple!
