I was just thinking about the Strat's anniversary coming up.

I'd like to thinkg Fender will debut some revolutionary technology to go along with what I'm sure will be vintage reissues......but.

Most likely it will be fancy stickers or badges.....cosmetic stuff like embroidered plush lining in the cases on the higher end stuff, etc.

I'm sure they will work in diamonds somewhere.

Typical marketing. That's what I expect.

They will also probably do a special edition 60th anniversary strat like they did in 94 and 04.

Not to hijack but you all peaked my curiousity - Did they do anything different for their Century models? I know they only made 100, with a special badge and decal, but did they do anything else with these models (pickups, tuners, color, etc.)?

Well with the 60th Teles you got a special neck plate that wasn't even real steel but it looks cool anyway.

    Neck plates are cool.

What's the marketing word going to be...for the Telecaster, it was Telebration.

    Stratastic?

    Stratomafabulous?

    Strat-terrific?

    Strat-iversary?

    Strato-mungous?

    Stratocastorially Amazing?

It will be a magic guitar that plays itself.

Didn't they do a 25th, 30th, 50th or some anniversary that was made out of cement or some amazingly heavy stuff.

Maybe the new inlayed fretboard will be it!

If it played itself...would it get GAS for the next model?

They may have special models, possibly a 54 Pure Vintage model... What would be great is if they put the old AM Standard pups in the MIMs... Kinda another small update.

On the Tele forum, Boris mentioned that it was ...umm I want to say sinctered or sintered steel...definitely not sphinctered:)

It's not magnetic. He said they are known to degrade or crumble sometimes.

I can hardly wait for the dubious opportunity to pay extra money for an American Standard Strat with tacky bling on it
