56 tremolo arm thread

    Hi what is the tremolo arm spec for a 56 block?

    I don't understand what you are looking for. There is no '56 tremolo block, they were pretty much the same throughout the 50's and early '60s. The early '54's were somewhat different, more rounded on the edges etc.

    OK,I have a 56 without a tremolo arm, i want to get one, one I have from a later strat is too small a diameter (5mm?) so I was asking what diameter/thread it is that I need to look for, also is there a specific pattern/spec

    I own an all original '56 Strat, the Fender Pure Vintage Tremolo Arm fit's perfectly into the tremolo block. I prefer one of those Fender 60's Pure Vintage Tremolo Arms. The original arm from '56 is a shorter one, same as the Fender Pure Vintage 50's arm. The PV arm is very close to the original one from my '56. BTW, the diameter is identical 4.7 mm on both.
