170$CAN for a pedaltrain 1 with hard case, with brackets to hold my 4x4 power supply. It’s relatively small so all my pedal won’t fit on it, but it’s a start! I don’t have the budget right now for a brand new one...Should I finally make the move? The pedaltrain classic is worth 269$CAN and looks like the one offered to me...Thanks you all rock!

If it's not going to hold everything you want why bother?
Save up, there's always another deal around the corner

honestly just make your own dude.

way way cheaper. not hard. go to Ikea or whatever, any home furnishing store and look for a decent platform. probably find a shelf or something for like 7 bucks. then hit up staples or some office supply shop and buy some 3m Velcro Tape and get to work on it.

probably build a great board for under 50 dollars and it will be tailored to your exact needs.

also hi from ottawa. Montreal is probably my favorite city in canada

Even if I build one (and I am too lazy to), I’d need a hard case for transport...I’m not interested in a soft case.

Plywood, black spray paint , and Velcro = about 15 bucks.

I got a padded zip up bag from Wal-Mart for about 5 bucks.

I even routed out a crude but effective "monkey grip" on the board.
Lol, I'm such a cheap bastad

want a good carrying bag for your pedal board?

Buy an old brief case from the local thrift shop and build your board inside of it.

pretty classy, and with it open you will have a bit of a spray shield on the stage to stop unwanted liquids from landing on your pedals.

works great. saw a dude doing it locally and I have to admit. the front of the brief case at the end of the set was indeed wet... beer.. sweat, spit.. who knows

Easy to make, I made this mini board in less than 15 minutes with left over oak I had. I also own a Pedaltrain Classic, but I would never buy another store made board again, I love the handmade wood ones better.

I would say not to buy it. It is not a deal if it can not fully work for you or be easily made to work for you.

I have made some fancy and far from cheap to build boards but I recommend everyone to build a cheap 1 themselves first so you can figure out what you do, or do not like and what you want and need if the 1st one is not perfect for you.

Finding an already existing case to build one to fit in like carver mentioned is smart if you need to travel with it.

I dont know about $35. I built mine from recycled wood. By the time I bought the paint, clear coat, velcro and patch cable kit I had over $100 into it. Bit I'm happy 1528912625496.jpg

Yours is much nicer than mine.
I got my plywood from some scrap laying around at work.
Black paint was like 5 or 6 bucks.
    The Velcro was about 10.
The patch cables I already had.

Really, I am a minimalist when it comes to pedals.
The only thing I keep on my main board is a wah, an mxr delay, and a clean boost (which I almost never use). Oh, I forgot , my channel switcher from my amp.
    That's it. Bare bones.

Oh, sure. Like you don't get a commission for every brief case sold in a thrift store!

Seriously, though, that's a great idea. Now I have to go get a briefcase. And then some pedals.

Another option for mounting is links from a bike chain. Take the feet off and then use those holes and screws through one hole in the link then a screw into the board (or shelf or whatever) in the other one.

Much more secure than Velcro and easily undone.
