Last night I was able to get the jack and switch cleaned out with some Deoxit and decided to change the pots. Everything went great but I noticed something odd. The volume pot is a B500K pot and the tone pot is a D500K. I would like to keep the wiring as close to original as possible but use better components so now I have to go shopping.

    D500? I’ve seen A, B, & C tapers on pots but never a D.

Do you have a meter? Since you have them out, measure them if you do so we can figure out what the taper is.

Here it is. The first one is the one marked with a D. Looks like they used a linear taper on the volume and an audio taper on the tone.

An A and a B should do you then, unless you're running a treble bypass on the volume, in which case I'd go A on both.

Perfect, that's the way I like the pots to be. It seems quite common to use linear volume pots on Asian guitars, whereas guitars from the Americas tend to use audio. Both work fine, it just depends how you like the controls to respond when you turn the knobs.
