I just bought a squier affinity from 09. Attached are pictures. I'm wondering if anybody knows if the body is agathis or alder off the top of their head? I did some research but find conflicting info. If anybody knows, i'm curious. See attached pics. Thank you. 23443234.PNG 234234234.PNG

Some say Agathis, my buddy who's certified w fender says they ship the rejects from Mexico to build the squires. So it seems like a crapshoot.

    Thanks guys.

I did a serial number search on Fender's website and found the strat pack this was a part of. All the marketing material I was able to find across the web from back then either says "solid hardwood" or agathis, so I'm gonna assume agathis. Once I get the guitar, I will try to pop off the neck and take some pics so we can confirm what the deal is with these.

Affinities are thinner, I doubt they would reject regular bodies and then make them thinner.

Thinner than the standard strat, but alder are the affinitys!

I believe most are on spec with Fender, but I could be wrong. The thinner bodies on the affinity must be where they make up the $$ that goes into the better tuners (as compared with the bullet).

FYI UPS lost this package. Luckily, I'll get a refund from Reverb but I won't be getting this guitar (which I really wanted). never accept UPS as a shipping option. I've had nothing but hell with them.
